The rowing team is up and running for 2005/2006. For students who are new to Ross Shep, the Rowing competitions are all sponsored and coached by members of the Edmonton Rowing Club (ERC) and Alberta Rowing (AR). The Edmonton Rowing Club and Alberta Rowing will be sponsoring the Indoor Rowing Competition in April - location is TBA. To begin the process of improving on individual fitness and aerobic levels, the indoor training will began in February for Shep rowers. Rowing practice times have been set. Listen to the announcements for when to sign up for the times that work for you. Student rowing is now being organized by a Rosss Sheppard alumnus, and canadian Olympic rower Andrew Hoskins. The cost to rowers for coaching insurance, practice time, competition t-shirts, and competition day activities would be the same as last year, $45.00 per rower. Training for the June competition, and on the water training will begin in April. Our organizational meeting for the High School challenge race teams will be in the second or third week of April. The spring date will allow new rowers to join the Ross Shep team and help us to regain our position as one of the top high school rowing teams.
