Shep Soccer 2006

| Senior Men's Soccer Senior Boys Soccer season was fun, exciting and well fought. The boys started exhibition splitting games against Jasper place and Strathcona. We had a learning experience against M.E. Lazerte which proved to be a point in the season were the boys came together and started to work as a complete unit. The following game against Memorial the boys were unstoppable developing confidence as the match progressed. Hard work and commitment paid off as they came from behind against Queen Elizabeth. Despite outplaying McNally the boys came up short and not getting the bounces they deserved. Eastglen received a late penalty kick which turned out to be the winner. Rainout and Graduation ceremonies delayed the playing of qualifying night. However when it started the boys were ready, pulling out a lopsided victory over Queen Elizabeth. Back to back games into the playoff round may have been a factor in the playoff match against Harry Ainlay. The match was extremely exciting and close. Harry Ainlay edged us out by one penalty kick after we each scored in overtime. I would like to thank the boys for their hard work and dedication for a great soccer season. Best wishes for all of the players not returning to the roster next year. Junior Boys Soccer. The Ross Sheppard Junior boys soccer team had a successful season going undefeated and winning the city championships. The boys worked hard as a team and consisted of a well balanced group of young men that were always willing to work hard for each other. The team continually got better throughout the season and responded well to any opposition that challenged their undefeated streak. They peaked in the city finals by convincingly winning the city championship against their strongest opponents, Spruce Grove by a score of 3-2. |
